Our story

Built from the inside out.

Your Build Mentor wasn't created in a boardroom. It was built by two people who spent years inside the construction industry, on the tools, on site, in the office, and across the table from homeowners navigating one of the biggest decisions of their lives.

Daniel brings 15+ years as a licensed builder and site manager, having delivered 130+ homes. He's also a qualified A-Grade Electrician. Steph worked her way from client relations and contract review through to builder marketing, guiding homeowners through every stage of the build from the inside.

We saw the same problem from different angles: homeowners making one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives without anyone truly in their corner. That's why we built YBM.

Steph brings real-world knowledge from every stage of the homeowner journey, from contract reviews and selections, to communications, defect responses, and the uncertainty of one of life's biggest financial decisions.

Steph knows where homeowners get lost, because she's been the one guiding them out.

Three rules we don't bend

Independent, always

No commissions, referral fees or partnerships with builders, brokers or suppliers. You're the only one paying us, so you're the only one we answer to.

Plain English

If it needs an industry glossary to understand, it hasn't been explained properly. Everything is written for someone building for the first time.

Honest about limits

We're mentors and educators, not your solicitor, inspector or broker. When you need one of those, we'll say so clearly rather than guess.
